A lot of people assume that hip hop and rap are a negative thing, but they don't realize that there is a positive side to both. Hip hop has been around for over 100 years and it's still going strong in the world today. Hip hop has always been a part of our culture, whether it be in the form of dance or music. It was created by rappers who were trying to express their feelings through music. Hip hop has also been used as a way for people to express themselves and make a statement about what they believe in. Hip hop has been used to create a sense of unity among the black community by creating a safe place where people can feel comfortable and accepted. Hip hop has also been used to promote awareness of issues that are important to the African American community. It is used to educate the public on issues that affect their lives such as police brutality, poverty, and violence. This is why hip hop has become so popular. The lyrics of hip hop songs are often very controversial and sometimes even violent, but they are still very effective in making people feel safe and secure. It is not just about being able to sing along to a song or dance with your friends, it is about having an outlet for expressing yourself. Many artists use their lyrics to inspire others. Hip hop artists like Lauryn Hill and Lisa "left eye" Lopes use their lyrics to create a sense of community and unity.

  Have you ever been told that you're on your phone too much? As apart of gen z I am very familiar with that statement. in today's day of age, we have become consumed by not only the technology but social media as well. according to Nicole Martin of Forbes, she says "It’s the age of “fake news” and gone are the days of waiting for the morning news for breaking stories or reading gossip magazines for the latest celebrity dirt." showing that we literally have news at our fingertips and like news that is aired on television the news we receive on our mobile devices can also be fake, which can make us social zombies or oblivious to what is actually is going on around the world.  Although both Kamala Harris and George Taylor have many diffrences they also have many similarities which include working towards pushing the boundaries of society's norms, fighting in a society that is not very accepting of people like themselves, they are both African American, and both were the first  of their kind meaning that Ms. Harris is the first African American woman to run for Vice President and Mr. Taylor was the very first African American man to run for President of the US. For example, Mr.Taylor ran for President in 1904 under an all black independent party called " The National Liberty" and was ridiculed and even left off some states ballots all together.
